Working, scuffed, cracked, liquid-damaged or dead. We're the repair shop other computer shops send their Macs to, so a MacBook with a dead logic board or a smashed screen isn't scrap to us. It's repair stock, and we pay for it.

Most Macs from 2015 onwards. Older ones are welcome too, they're just worth less. Intel or Apple silicon, it doesn't matter.
One thing we can't buy: a Mac still linked to someone's Apple Account (Activation Lock) that can't be removed. It takes a minute to sort, see before you send it.

We test it when it arrives, confirm the price (or explain any change), and pay by bank transfer within one working day.
Why a broken Mac is worth more to us
Most buyback sites only want clean, working machines. Anything else gets a token offer or a straight no.
We repair and refurbish over 100 machines a month for other computer shops, on our own board-level bench. A Mac with a dead board, a smashed display or a liquid spill is a job we'd be doing anyway, so we can pay a proper price for it.
Most of what we buy becomes repair stock and tested spares: the boards, displays and parts that keep other people's Macs running. Working and repairable Macs are refurbished and go back into use. Nothing with life left in it gets scrapped.

Before you send it
- Back it up. Time Machine or iCloud, whatever you normally use.
- Sign out of iCloud. System Settings, click your name, then Sign Out. This also turns off Find My, which is what releases Activation Lock.
- Erase it. System Settings, General, Transfer or Reset, Erase All Content and Settings (macOS Monterey or later). On an older Mac, skip this and we'll erase it on the bench.
- Won't turn on? Remove it from your Apple Account instead: sign in at icloud.com/find, choose the Mac under All Devices and click Remove from Account. Or go to account.apple.com, Devices, and remove it there.
- Include the charger if you have it. It isn't essential.
- Pack it well. The original box is ideal; otherwise a sturdy box with padding all round and nothing loose inside. If you don't have one, ask and we'll sort a box.
Then print the label we email you, stick it on and drop the parcel at any Post Office. Keep the receipt until we've paid you.
Your data
Erase the Mac before it goes in the box if you can. If it can't be erased at home, it's wiped on our bench before anything else happens to it. Nothing is read, copied or kept, and a drive that can't be erased is destroyed.

Do you really buy broken Macs?
Yes. Dead logic boards, cracked screens, liquid damage, swollen batteries, keyboards that don't type. We repair these for a living, so they're worth more to us than to a site that only wants working ones.
How do you work out the price?
Model, year, spec and condition, and what it will take to put right. A working Mac is worth more than a broken one, but a broken one is still worth something, and we tell you the price before you send anything.
Do I pay for postage?
No. We email you a prepaid, insured label. If the Mac arrives and the condition doesn't match what you told us, we'll explain and make a revised offer. If you'd rather keep it, we post it back at our cost.
How and when do I get paid?
By bank transfer, within one working day of confirming the price, to an account in your name. Bring it into the shop and we pay while you wait.
What is Activation Lock and why does it matter?
It's the Find My feature that stops a Mac being set up by anyone but its owner. A Mac that's still locked to your Apple Account can't be used by anyone else, so we can't buy it until it's removed. Signing out of iCloud, or removing the Mac at icloud.com/find, takes a minute.
What about my data?
Erase it before sending if you can. Whatever is left is wiped before any testing or repair. Nothing is read, copied or kept.
Do you buy iMacs and Mac Pros?
Yes, but they travel badly, so bring them into the shop or ask us about collection rather than posting them.
Do you need ID?
For higher-value Macs we ask for photo ID, and payment always goes to a bank account in your name. It protects you as much as us, and it's how we keep stolen Macs out of the trade.
