Laptop slow — even with Windows 11 and an SSD? Check your RAM
We're seeing an increasing number of laptops come in with just 4GB of RAM. If your laptop feels sluggish despite running Windows 11 and already having an SSD fitted — 4GB simply isn't enough any more.
A simple, low-cost RAM upgrade to 8GB or 16GB (if your laptop supports memory upgrades / has RAM slots — which the majority do) will get your device running better than new. Get in touch and we'll check your model for free.
How a laptop or PC repair works here
1. Free inspection
Bring it in or post it. We look first and find the fault. Nothing to pay to find out.
2. A price and straight advice
We tell you the price and whether the repair is cost-effective, so you can decide. Nothing is repaired until you say yes.
3. Most repairs done in 1–2 days
Every repair is guaranteed for three months. If a part has to be ordered we tell you with the quote.
Insurance claim? If you have an active gadget claim with your insurance company, come in and see us. We inspect the laptop or PC, usually next day, and make sure it is reported fairly.
Getting your laptop or PC to us
Bring it in
28 Eastbourne Road, Taunton, TA1 1SU. Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 10am to 1pm. Drop it off and we inspect it for free; call or WhatsApp first if you want the same-day thermal service, so we can book you in. Desktops: just bring the tower, no need for the monitor or cables unless we ask. In Somerset or Devon? See the areas we cover.
Post it
Our mail-in repair service covers the whole UK and takes laptops of any make. Post it to us for the same free inspection and a price before you decide, with return postage usually under £12.99. Desktop PCs travel badly, so ask first and bring them in if you can.
