RTX 5090 laptop rescue — botched thermal paste job (11 Jul 2026)

A customer took their RTX 5090 laptop to a shop in Birmingham to have high-end metallic thermal paste applied. It wasn't done properly — and afterwards the laptop no longer detected its RTX graphics at all. We repaired the damage and brought the GPU back to life.

Metallic paste is electrically conductive: one slip and it kills components. It's exactly why our standard thermal service uses non-conductive Arctic paste — all of the performance, none of the risk.

Failed AiO cooler on a serious build — Oct 2026

A diagnosis on overheating for a serious build still under warranty: ROG Strix board, TUF Gaming Radeon card and a case full of RGB fans. With all those fans, the problem was the all-in-one liquid cooler, which had failed.

We fitted a cheap provisional cooler while the customer handled the AiO warranty replacement with the company they bought the PC from.
